Creating visual identity for Glee, an innovative platform that bases its services on improved video streaming was a really challenging project. The idea was to create the most simple mark using geometric shapes only, that would resemble the brand instantly but also have a slight association or an aspect of a video.
I’ve managed to come up with a unique mark, that is quite memorable and it could be used on any sort of applications without losing its recognition, no matter the size. Even though the mark itself is very minimal, I’ve managed to convey double-meaning into it. The mark itself could be seen as a letter ‘g’ which fits perfectly with the brand name of the company. Also, I’ve redrew the standard looking serif (an ear in this instance to be precise) of a lower case letter ‘g’ to be a play button instead and that way I have created an amalgam of symbolism into a very simple mark, which makes it unique and at the very end successful, timeless design that could be used many years after.
The goal was to create a design that could last a century without having to change or update.
